Arvato Systems supports the "Red Farmer Initiative" in the Südpfalz region with its farmpilot software solution to improve the cooperation between local fire departments and farmers during emergencies. The platform enables a fast and effective communication as well as a central data storage.

Forest and wildland fires are a challenge for fire departments across Germany every year. There is often a lack of sufficient water to fight the fires quickly and effectively. The Südliche Weinstraße district has therefore adopted an idea from the Main-Spessart district firefighters‘ association: Under the name "Red Farmer," farmers make their vehicles and equipment available and provide fire departments with an additional supply of firefighting water on site during fires.

With its farmpilot solution, Arvato Systems provides the project with an online portal where farmers and winemakers can register and offer and manage their vehicles. Thanks to the digital access, fire departments get a faster overview of available resources in the neighborhood in case of an emergency and can operate in a more targeted manner. In the future, the system will also show farmers the way to the fireplace.

After the successful launch, other districts and organizations involved in disaster management have already shown interest in the "Red Farmer Initiative" and the online portal, which can be used nationwide.

Incidentally, crafts can also participate in the campaign. Because these often have special devices and machines, which are not available to fire departments and emergency services.

Thomas Knecht, co-initiator of this initiative, is counting on close cooperation between the fire department and the "Red Farmers": "We have noticed that there are many committed people who help others. However, there is often a lack of coordinated cooperation. This is where we come in with our project. With farmpilot, we can optimize registration, administration and operation planning so that we can act quickly and effectively in an emergency."

"We are pleased to be able to support the network in implementing the project quickly," adds Hendrik Gerard Vos, Senior Account Manager at Arvato Systems.
